Because our electric and gas companies provide a service that is essential to the quality of life, Dominion devotes special resources to help families in financial need heat their homes during the winter or stay cooler during the summer (where applicable).
In West Virginia, the Dominion Foundation provides support to non-profit organizations that manage fuel assistance programs. The company also sponsors EnergyShare, raising more than $1 million annually for those in need.
EnergyShare is Dominion's heating and cooling assistance program in Virginia and North Carolina, and is a heating assistance program in Ohio. EnergyShare pays for any type of heating bill — oil, wood, kerosene, natural gas or electricity. The program provides a one-time payment of last resort for those who have exhausted other forms of assistance or who do not qualify for such help.
